Shakespeare in the Park 2025 Programme
Cast and Crew
-
Darren Blois (Caesar)
Moving up in the world, Darren has gone from Second Merchant in Comedy of Errors, to courtier Osric in Hamlet, to Dukes in Richard III and As You Like It, to near-emperor in Julius Caesar. So if you ever thought acting could be fun, come out next year and maybe start out as Second Citizen – you never know where your theatre life will take you. Non-Shakespeare credits: A Christmas Carol (Atlantic Ballet); Stupid F@!king Bird, Jesus Christ Superstar, Almost Maine, Circle Mirror Transformation (all Hubcity).
-
Myles Botten (Brutus)
Myles Botten is thrilled to be back performing with his talented peers at Hub City Theatre! As always, a big thank you to his parents and friends. His previous credits with Hub City include Professor Plum in Clue, Puck in Midsummer Night's Dream and Simon in Jesus Christ Superstar.
-
Kelly Tynan (Cassius)
Kelly is endlessly grateful for the opportunity to undergo this “enterprise of honorable-dangerous consequence” as Cassius—an absolute drama queen that it has been an absolute joy to channel. This is Kelly’s seventh Shakespeare in the Park production (and—don’t tell the others—it just might be her favourite). Other acting credits include Stupid F’ing Bird, Jesus Christ Superstar, Clue (Hubcity Theatre), The 39 Steps (Roundhouse Productions), Drinking Alone, and Last Chance Romance (Hairy Tease Productions). Offstage, she’s worked on the production side of several shows, including as director of last year’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Kelly is delighted to once again be sharing the stage with her son Rowan, and relieved that this time—unlike when he sided with the dreaded Montagues—he’s backing the right side.
-
Amanda Spear (Casca)
Amanda is excited to be back playing in Shakespeare in the Park once again this summer. Previous Hubcity Theatre credits include Merry Wives of Windsor, A Winter’s Tale, Twelfth Night and last year’s production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Hoping everyone enjoys the show. Thank you to this amazing cast and crew for making this a wonderful experience.
-
Dallas Burns (Octavius)
-
Jessica Whalen (Portia)
Jessica (Portia) is a dedicated, self-proclaimed chaotic theatre nerd;
'Julius Caesar' marks her ninth Hubcity Theatre performance.
After 2 summers dabbling backstage with facepaint (A Midsummer Night's Dream, Romeo and Juliet), some occasional ASM duties (Clue, Miracle on 34th Street), and recently filming "No Straws" (2025 NB Silverwave Film Festival submission, written and directed by the incredibly talented Teagan Anderson-Leger) portraying Portia will be Jessica's first stage appearance since Mash in "Stupid Fucking Bird" (April 2024).
"Cry 'Havoc!' " ... And enjoy the show!
-
Georgia Ross (Calpurnia)
Georgia is honoured to play the role of Calpurnia, in this year’s show of Julius Caesar. Prior to this, she has appeared in several Hubcity Theatre productions including Romeo and Juliet, Richard III and As You Like It. She also played a pivotal role in Circle Mirror Transformation. Outside of the theatre world, Georgia is a teacher and a proud owner of a pug. She would like to thank both the cast and crew for another thespian adventure.

To ravage, to slaughter, to steal, this they give the false name of empire; and where they create a desert, they call it peace.” - Tacitus
-
Parham Diogenes (Decius)
Parham is elated to return to Shakespeare in the Park for a third time. As a creative, he first fell in love with acting a few years ago and is thrilled to further explore this passionate art form with a more serious and dramatic tone in this production. Working with and making memories with the magnificent cast and crew of Hubcity Theatre has been a highlight of his experience. His other creative interests are music composition with a MIDI controller, short story writing, and painting.
-
Rowan Babstock (Metellus Cimber)
Julius Caesar is Rowan’s fourth Shakespeare in the Park production with Hubcity Theatre, and he is incredibly excited to yet again be performing in one of their shows. Rowan has played many different roles in theatre productions, such as Fagin in Oliver!, and most recently, Donkey in Shrek the Musical Jr. Ever since he was young, he’s shared a love of theatre with his mom, who plays Cassius in this show, so he’s very glad to be able to perform with her again.
-
Monik Richard (Trebonius)
Monik (she/her) feels grateful to have been cast in her first Shakespeare in the Park alongside seasoned thespians. She has contributed onstage and offstage to a handful of Hubcity Theatre productions since 2021: Almost Maine-Marni, It’s a Wonderful Life-Violet, Jesus Christ Superstar-ASM & costume design. -
Daniel Murphy (Mark Antony)
No longer novice to Hubcity’s stage,
Dan’s amateurish drivel plagues us still—
Who writes a pentametric bio page?
Alas, if only taste were tied to skill.
Remember, after every battle’s done,
Mark Antony’s a hero in no sense.
Heed not the charlatans with silver tongues—
Cast down the tyrants, then and now and hence
