August: Osage County by Tracy Letts
AUGUST: OSAGE COUNTY is presented by arrangement with Concord Theatricals on behalf of Dramatists Play Service. www.concordtheatricals.com
Summary
A father who has vanished.
A pill-popping mother.
Three sisters harbouring shady little secrets.
When the large Weston family unexpectedly reunites after their father disappears, their Oklahoman family homestead explodes in a maelstrom of repressed truths and unsettling secrets. Mix in Violet, the drugged-up, scathingly acidic matriarch, and you’ve got a play that unflinchingly – and uproariously – exposes the dark side of a seemingly average family.
Director’s Message
August: Osage County has been a bucket list show for me since I was about 24 years old and I was first introduced to it by my Contemporary American Theatre teacher. To think that this masterful examination of the human relationship was Tracy Letts’s first play, a Pulitzer-Prize winning one at that, is astounding.
I consider myself very lucky to have had the opportunity to work with this wonderful cast to bring this show to life. We have had the great opportunity to plumb the depths of emotion, vulnerability and truth in this work together and I am sure you will see all of that work laid bare tonight.
I’d especially like to thank Justin Brian, Stage Manager, and Chris Meaney, Technical Director, without whom this show would literally never come to fruition. Thank you both for your tireless work bringing Osage County to life.
I hope this play reminds us all that no matter how much pain, trauma, hardship, fear, and anxiety the world gives us and that we carry with us, love and compassion will always move us forward.

Jill Quiring
Jill became addicted to the magic of the stage when she was just a wee lass. Much like her off stage dramas, she has been thrilled to take up comedic and darkly broody roles alike. Some of her favourite highlights include Mrs. Peacock in Clue, Nurse in Romeo and Juliet, Pontius Pilate in Jesus Christ Superstar, and Sister Mary Hubert in Nunsense. In addition to working with several Moncton-area theatre companies, Jill also performs regularly with her band, The AJs, at community events such as Pub Sing. She is a longtime member of the Greater Moncton Chorale as well. Outside of performing, Jill balances her love of the arts with her work as an educator and as a mom to two wonderful humans. She extends her gratitude to her partner, Jeremy, for his steadfast support.
Enjoy the show!

Rob LeBlanc
A proud LFA (LeBlanc From Away), Rob arrived in New Brunswick in 2008 from Victor Garber’s hometown of London, ON. Animated by a mid-life reassessment during the COVID (as so many were), in 2021 he began acting again for the first time since his pony-tailed undercut, Eddie Vedder-idolizing high school days. Since then, he’s appeared in shows with Performers’/Marshlight Theatre Company and Festival by the Marsh and this year will appear in “A Cavendish Discovery of Witchcraft” a new short film by NB-based Malley Films. August: Osage County is Rob’s first show with Hubcity, and he’s grateful and excited to be involved. Rob lives in Sackville with his beautiful, formidable, and supportive wife, Lauren. They have three ageless children: Travel, Good Wine, and Great Food.

Darren specializes in playing characters who get killed early on. Last seen playing Julius Caesar.
"I just love working with Hubcity Theatre. It's such a community of talented people committed to telling great stories with great characters. August:Osage County is one of those stories, and Beverly Weston is one of those characters. Bev may vanish after the first scene, but in that first scene are the seeds that are planted, to bear fruit in the complex family dynamics that follow in his wake. Enjoy the show!
